Bike tour Ubud

We organised a private bike tour with the hotel we were staying at in Ubud. It was an early morning start at 7am to beat the heat. We were driven about half an hour out of Ubud and then began our tour through many little villages and it was very interesting watching the locals start their day and we were greeted with many children shouting out hello and waving to us.

Our guide stopped outside a family compound and talked about the families temple called a pura in the compound and how they are different to the puras that the whole village use or the large puras the whole region uses for different occasions.

We then ventured past  one of the many rice paddies and were shown the rice growing at different stages. We were lucky enough to see a crop being harvested by the people of the village.
The ride eventually lead us back into central Ubud and back to the hotel and it was certainly a highlight of the trip.
