Bath and Stonehenge

We had an enjoyable day trip from our holiday in central London to the city of Bath and latter that afternoon took a bus from Bath to Stonehenge.
Although Bath is very popular with tourists it still retains its charm of wonderful Bath stone houses and village type atmosphere. Bath has a lively theatre and arts scene and throughout the town were buskers. The Roman Baths have been restored and showcase an informative step back into Roman times.
Stonehenge is an hour out of Bath by bus through the English country side which offered glimpses of images of horses that have been created into the chalk hills. We also got to see some thatched cottages along the way.
Approaching Stonehenge, I first thought that it was rather small looking. But after walking around the rope barrier to prevent people from touching Stonehenge it was certainly impressive. I had read criticism of the fact that tourists have to walk around a rope barrier and cannot get close to to the stones. This rope barrier works to most tourists advantage as you can obtain photos without countless people in them.
