War Horse the play

While in London we were very lucky to obtain tickets for the play War Horse which is sold out for months in advance. My initial enquiry about tickets at a ticket seller was met with a laugh as I was wanting them for this  week and not a few months down the track. It was suggested by the seller to go to the theatre on the day to see if any returns were available.
I went to the theatre an hour and half before the box office opened  and was first in line and soon after people started joining the queue and by 10am there would be at least thirty people waiting.
I was lucky to get 2 tickets from the total of 7 they had for sale !

War Horse is adapted from the novel by Michael Morpurgo and is the story about the adventures of a horse called Joey as he moves from life on a farm into the battles of World War I and Joey's owner Albert determination to find his beloved horse on the battlefields.

The horses are all life-size puppets on are operated by three people each. After a short time you forget these are puppets as there movements are so life like .

The play was very moving and the puppets movements were just incredible.

War Horse the play is going to open at the Arts Centre in Melbourne in December 2012.
